USCAP reinstates ISUP to active companion society status

Fellow ISUP members

I was informed yesterday evening by Dr. David Kaminsky that the USCAP Board has voted to reinstate ISUP to active companion society status. On behalf of the entire membership I extended my thanks to Dr. Kaminsky and the USCAP board for their decision.

I would also extend my sincere gratitude to the members of the ISUP Council who have worked diligently to continue the great work of the Society and bring us to this point. My thanks also go to Drs. Michelle Hirsch and Steven Shen who put together a program for the Companion society meeting and to the speakers on the program who agreed to participate not knowing whether it would even be presented. Most of all I would like to thank you the members who have supported the Society throughout this difficult year. The hundreds of you who provided written support undoubtedly had a significant impact on the Board’s decision.

I look forward to the opportunity to speak with and thank many of you personally at the Saturday evening educational session and at the Molecular Pathology conference on Sunday. The Saturday evening program should be available on the USCAP web site shortly. The details of the Molecular Pathology meeting will also be distributed in the next couple of weeks as will the date and time of the Annual General meeting.

All the best
