These were taken as read and approved by the meeting.

President’s report:
The President thanked the Officers and Members for their contribution towards another successful year for the Society. He noted that the Scientific Meeting of the Society again had a good attendance and thanked Dr. Liang Cheng and Dr. Holger Moch for their role in organizing this. He also thanked the speakers for their important contributions.

The President reported that the membership of the Society continues to increase at a pleasing rate, with the current roll being 408 members. The decision to introduce a three year membership package had been taken last year and this had proved to be very successful. In view of this the Executive recommends to this meeting that the dues remain at USD 40 for one years membership and USD 100 for three years membership (Carried unanimously).

The ISUP stipend Award will continue this year and three awards of 1000 USD were awarded in 2008 to allow Residents and Fellows to visit other institutions. It was emphasized that the Awards should not be used for travelling to scientific meetings. While there had been considerable interest in applying for these stipends from trainees in the US, no applications had been received from candidates outside North America. The president expressed the hope that in the future applications for these awards would have a more international flavor.

The President noted that the Research Prize Committee had been chaired for the last eight years by Dr. Kenneth Iczkowski and he thanked him for his continued interest in this important role.
An important focus for the Society is our Website and the President thanked Dr Epstein for his continued involvement as the Society”s Webmaster.

The Society continous to make an important contribution to the practice of genitourinary pathology through the organization of consensus conferences and this year a conference on the handling and staging of radical prostatectomy specimens will be held on March 8, 2009. Considerable work has gone into the planning of this Conference and the Society owes the Conference Convenor, Dr Lars Egevad a debt of gratitude for his outstanding work.

Last year a review of the Constitution and By-laws of the Society was signaled and this has now been undertaken. This will require ratification by the Annual General Meeting of the Society and the President tabled a notice of motion that this would be on next years agenda.

Secretary’s report:
A major event this year is the upcoming ISUP consensus conference that will be held at this meeting 8 march 2009. This is the third consensus meeting organized by ISUP. A novel feature is that the conference is more inclusive that consensus meetings normally are. All paying members of ISUP have been invited to participate and the only other requirement for participation is that a web-based pre-meeting survey was filled out before December 2008. The ISUP reception has continued to grow and this year it had a record participation of around 80 guests.

Treasurer’s report:
The Treasurer reported that the economy of the Society is strong and sufficient to maintain the planned activities of the society.

Election of officers:
The President reported upon the recommendations of the Nominating Committee for the Officers of the Society for 2009 to 2010:

President-Elect: Rodolfo Montironi MD
Secretary: Lars Egevad MD
Treasurer: Liang Cheng MD

The nominations have been endorsed by the Executive committee and no other nominations had been received by the Secretary. The nominations were approved unanimously by the meeting.

The President-Elect Dr. Srigley assumed the Presidency. He expressed his gratitude for the work done by Dr. Delahunt for the Society during more than a decade. The President suggested that ISUP should continue to organize consensus meetings maybe every 2-3 year.

He emphasized the importance of fellowship programs and awards given by the ISUP.

General business: None.

The meeting was closed at 9.50 p.m.

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of the Society held at Hynes Convention Center, Boston, MA on March 7, 2009.
