Present: <\/strong> The President called the meeting to order at 9.12pm.<\/p>\n Apologies: <\/strong> Minutes: <\/strong> Treasurer’s Report: <\/strong> The tax exempt status of the Society has been confirmed and appropriate Federal and State taxation documents had been filed for the past year.<\/p>\n It was recommended that dues of USD 40.00 be levied for the coming year.<\/p>\n The Treasurer’s Report was accepted by the meeting.<\/p>\n President’s Report: <\/strong> Dr Eble reported upon the activities of the Society over the last year. He noted that the Society had sponsored a Companion Meeting at the IAP Congress held in October, 2004 in Brisbane, Australia. This had been well attended and positive feedback had been received from the Congress organizers. A similar Companion Conference was planned for the International Congress to be held in Montreal in 2006.<\/p>\n Dr Eble also noted that the Society was to sponsor a Consensus Conference on Gleason Grading of Prostatic Cancer which had been organized by Drs Epstein and Egevad. The recommendations of the Conference will be sent to all financial members of the Society.<\/p>\n The Residents\/Fellowship Research awards had been presented earlier in the evening to<\/p>\n and Dr Eble thanked Drs Iczkowski, MacLennan and Troncoso for their contribution as members of the Assessment Panel.<\/p>\n The President acknowledged the contribution of Dr Cheng who had organized the Companion Conference of the Society for the Brisbane meeting and for the current meeting of USCAP which had been held immediately prior to this Annual General Meeting. The meeting expressed its appreciation to Dr Cheng.<\/p>\n The President reported upon the recommendations of the Nominating Committee for the Officers of the Society for 2005 to 2007. The members recommended for offices were as follows:<\/p>\n President-Elect: Brett Delahunt MD The Secretary reported that no other nominations had been received. The nominations were approved unanimously by the meeting.<\/p>\n Dr Epstein, President-Elect assumed the Presidency and thanked Dr Eble for the important work he had undertaken during his term as President.<\/p>\n Dr Epstein outlined his plans for the development of additional educational activities and resources for the Society. In particular he advised that a website will be established which will have case conferences accessible only to members. \nNo apologies for unavoidable absence were received.<\/p>\n
\nThe minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held on March 6, 2004 in Vancouver BC were read by the Secretary and approved by the meeting.<\/p>\n
\nThe Treasurer reported on the financial status of the society. It was noted that the Society currently had 102 full dues paying members and held adequate funds for its current activities.<\/p>\n
\nThe President outlined the current educational focus of the Society.<\/p>\n\n
